In Tarzana, Temple Judea opens the afternoon with a Tashlich ceremony on campus, from 5:30-6聽 p.m. Afterward, the Reform community celebrates Shabbat Shuvah鈥 the Shabbat between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur 鈥 with a service led by temple youth. PRAYER, POETRY EVENING

On this first anniversary of the mass murder of 1,200 Jews by Hamas terrorists, numerous communities across Los Angeles are hosting commemorative programs. Among them is at Valley Beth Shalom (VBS). VBS Rabbi Nolan Lebovitz鈥檚 best friends lost their only son, Hersch Goldberg-Polin. Lebovitz and his community have been the most active in Los Angeles with daily advocacy for rescuing hostages.
